Rob co-founded Day & White Architects (DWA) in 2006 and later founded Rob White Architect (RWA) in 2013 as the Principal Architect & Designer. He started working professionally in 1991 (33 years) as an intern at Sapienza & Lessig Architect's & Planners (SLAP). Soon after joining the firm, he helped lead the implementation of CAD drawing and advancement of document production. Rob's experience eventually included project design work for various large building projects including libraries, schools, municipal facilities, medical offices, and private businesses. In 2004 Rob left the firm to join Rob Sanders Architects (RSA) and began his focus in the residential sector. His work included custom design work for traditional, period, and modern single-family residences. Utilizing his expertise in design and document production, Rob advanced to working directly with clients and handling their project goals from design inception through construction. Rob left the firm in 2014 and re-organized DWA to bring his creative design and professional lead to clients as Principal Architect & Designer of RWA.
At RWA all project design work is prepared and led by Rob. He works closely and directly with all clients and their representatives to oversee their projects. He has made a career in the residential, commercial and municipal sectors and is able to creatively prepare sensitive solutions responding to clients' goals and property requirements. He is highly experienced in project delivery through professional practice for all phases of a project. Additionally, his background in master planning, landscape design, and interior design allows him to wholistically prepare a design that's comprehensive and thoughtful.
His team at RWA works closely with him and he oversees the document production and business functions of the office. Like many licensed professionals Rob maintains his licenses and credentials through continuing education and learning. He along with his team bring new design and construction "best practices" and information to the firm and determines its application for new projects. When necessary, he will pull in vendors, reps, and resources to advance learning for the RWA team so the firm can better serve its clients.
Rob loves what he does! He has a long career in custom residential design and has a knack at handling those projects. He can bring someone's ideas to life, or he can lead out with his. The creativity never shuts off for him. His extensive background in larger projects such as town halls, housing complexes, private commercial buildings, hospitality & restaurants has allowed the firm to take on these types of projects where Rob directs the firm's services to the needs and wants of each job.
When asked, Rob will tell you he never decided to be an Architect, the profession choose him. From his earliest memories he recalls telling people that was his path.
